Unlike in version 1.xx, there's no specific quest chain instead players may perform Grand Company levequests, supply missions (deliver crafted gear), provisioning missions (deliver gathered materials), and at higher ranks Expert Delivery (donate rare equipment) to earn Grand Company seals. In A Realm Reborn, players are invited to join a Grand Company after a certain point of the Main Scenario quests. However, they are only locked into a Company after the Recruit rank, which means that you can be a Recruit on all three Companies at the same time. Players cannot join all three companies, they must choose one and are 'locked' into it. In the original version, Companies follow their own quest chain system, offering seals that can be traded for items, unique equipment or to reach higher ranks inside the Company. The Grand Companies reprise their role in A Realm Reborn as a gameplay element. It revolves around the three Companies of Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa, and Gridania, groups formed by the city-states in times of danger to form a cohesive command center in order to prepare for said threat.

As tank you can do the pulls yourself if you're wanting to go faster and the healer will just spam things on you when you fall below certain HP thresholds. I was able to pull multiple groups at once this way by disengaging on the first pack and then sending them after another one and things went quite well. If I pulled aggro, I'd swap targets until the tank took it back (unless it was nearly dead, then I'd kill it anyways). I sent the NPCs in to engage ahead of me and then I attacked the same target as the tank. I simply treated it like a dungeon where I have a little baby tank (either new or undergeared). I went in with low expectations for the NPC AI and was quite pleasantly surprised. I know I had an easy time on a melee DPS.
